Moby offers Free Music (part 2)
I posted this on MattHawkins, thus that is why this is part 2.
I was reading an issue of Filmmaker Magazine when I stumbled across an article about the artist Moby and his music in film. What he is doing is letting people use music he has made specifically for non-profit independent films.
Go to
http://www.mobygratis.com/film-music.html and read the text, make an account, then fill out a request form on the song you'd like to use (once you preview it) and they will use that info to approve you or not...more than likely approve.
I think that's pretty sweet that somebody out there is recognizing how painstaking making music for a film is.
------------------------------------------
There is one problem some of you may find. When requesting the form, there is a box that mentions:
You acknowledge that Moby has his own moral values and as such he stresses that any musical synchronisation (use) to acts of animal harm, acts of violence or any sexual acts are strictly prohibited.
Meaning, if you use the music in a scene of people getting their heads blown off, it's more than likely that if they find out, you're going to be taking that music off.
